A Q&A with Dan Pope, Head of Marketing for Neolyfe
Hey Dan, your experience with the team stretches back to ChainGuardians and Cryptoverse. Tell us about your role with Neolyfe.
I have a long history with the team and have been on the journey with the founder Robbie Cochrane for a number of years now. My role is simple: Get the word out there, make noise, be annoying, blow sh*t up. It all starts now.
Snow Crash is the first game to be released in Neolyfe. Give us the elevator pitch for this experience.
Xtreme competitive social snowboarding with your friends whilst you earn rewards in a beautiful virtual playground. It’s the kind of game we would play — which is typically how we make decisions. We’re gamers and deep into this space. If we think it’s fun, we believe others will too.
Who can play and what sorts of rewards can they expect?
You, me, everyone. It’s easy to pick up but hard to master and we’ll be dropping a series of challenges and rewards where everyone can get something from their time with Snow Crash. It’s competitive so bring your A-game.
Now for the most important question: Why does it look like a 1980s arcade game?
We’re just a radical, totally awesome bunch dude. But really, fun should flow through everything. And there’s something about fluorescent ski gear that just screams ‘1980s’. Or maybe we’re just living in the past, man. Remember when things were better? Save Ferris!
Was this what inspired the logo?
Yes.
Would you care to expand on that?
Nah man. Just hang ten and… stay gnarly.
Okay. How was the test of the MVP at the recent Solana Hackathon in London?
I don’t think it would be overstating things to describe it as a life-changing experience for all involved. Well maybe a touch, but we had a great turnout and a very happy first place getter who took home a sweet Neolyfe-Solana snowboard.
An actual snowboard?
An actual snowboard.
Any truth to the rumour that there’s a suitably cheesy trailer coming out?
I should think so. We didn’t spend weeks repeatedly watching ‘Hot Dog… The Movie!’ for nothing.
That’s you singing on the trailer, right?
No comment. But if any agents see it and like what they hear they should give me a call. I also do interpretive dance.
So when do we get to see this ‘masterpiece’?
Most likely at a time when Internet traffic is low. No, actually Alpha Season for Snow Crash is coming this winter (northern hemisphere) so grow out that mullet, put on an eye-melting puffy jacket and get ready for some alpine thrills and spills.
And when do we get our hands on Snow Crash?
What’d I just say?
Okay, thanks Dan. We’ll let you get back to your ‘work’.
No, thank you duderino. Stay crazy fresh!
